Truck and Rail Hazardous Commodity Flow Studies

Truck and Rail Hazardous Commodity Flow Studies

Urban Environmental Research conducted studies for the Clark County Nevada Department of Comprehensive Planning to characterize the flows of hazardous materials to, from and through the county, both by truck and rail car. The studies included an analysis of historical truck and rail car traffic volume, accident rates, and a detailed estimate of hazardous material transport for each class of material. The reports will be used by Clark County to assess the baseline flows of hazardous materials and analyze how the transport of nuclear waste to a repository at Yucca Mountain would potentially impact the county.
