Regional Emergency Operations Center Suitability Study

Regional Emergency Operations Center Suitability Study

Urban Environmental Research was retained by the City of Las Vegas, Nevada to review and analyze eight sites that were nominated by local governments through the Southern Nevada Regional Planning Coalition as locations for the proposed new regional public safety center (RPSC). Sites were evaluated consistent with the criteria identified in the Regional Public Safety Complex Business Plan (March 2007). Following presentations on siting considerations, a working group composed of various municipality and public agency stakeholders developed siting criteria for a RPSC. These criteria included a full array of geotechnical and environmental considerations, compatibility, survivability, flexibility and open architecture, communications, redundancy, security, and other similar factors.
